Check-in and Check-out Procedures

  • Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am.
  • Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.

  • Improved river access as of 2025. Please see gallery for more details.

Policies and Rules

  • Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
  • No smoking inside the home. No smoking allowed anywhere on the property. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
  • Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
  • No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
  • This property does not permit pets anywhere in or on the premises at any time, including outdoor spaces. Bona fide service animals with appropriate certification may be permitted, and the presence of a certified service animal must be disclosed prior to check-in. Misrepresenting a pet as a certified service animal is a crime under North Carolina law. Guests who bring a pet to a no-pet home will be subject to a non-refundable $500 extra cleaning fee to remove pet hair and dander and clean carpets and upholstery. If any pets are discovered during your tenancy including via security camera or observation of neighbors or BRMR staff, your credit card on file will be charged for the above-mentioned fee, and you will be evicted without refund of unused days.

  • No events allowed.

Fees and Payments

  • Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
  • Guests who bring a pet to a no-pet home will be subject to a non-refundable $500 extra cleaning fee.
  • All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Cancellation Policy

  • Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
  • Bookings canceled within 59 days of the arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
  • All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Parking Information

  • Driveway capacity is limited to 4 vehicles. Due to the presence of adjacent buried well and septic lines, no driving off the driveway or parking in the grass is permitted.
  • Owners have added an overflow gravel parking space on the left just before you reach the house.

Utilities and Amenities Access

  • All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals.
  • There is a starter set of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.
  • Hair dryers are not provided.
  • Towels and bed linens will be provided.
  • Amenities include fire pit, hot tub, and game room with pool table, foosball table, air hockey, basketball, and flat screen TV. Please take good care of the equipment and return items to the game room when you are done.

Safety and Emergency Information

  • This property has one exterior security camera mounted to the right side of the house above the porch viewing the river to monitor river levels. No cameras are pointing at the home itself.
  • Smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector are present in the property.

Winter Travel Advisory

  • 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March). Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
